About

Maeve is a wine bar.

Born from a love of wine, good food, and warm hospitality, Maeve is the passion project of friends Eleanor Cappa, Maris Cook, and Jesse Stevens. With years of hospitality experience across Melbourne, Sydney, and Europe, these three have returned to their hometown of Brisbane to create something they’ve always dreamed of: a place to share great wine, food, and company.

Our European-inspired menu features everything from snacks and shared plates to more substantial dishes, all designed for enjoyment and sharing. Whether you’re at the bar or in our dining room, Maeve is a space for relaxed, effortless gatherings. We also welcome function hire for special occasions.

Walk-ins are always warmly received when seats are available, but bookings are recommended to secure your spot. Find us at 39 Melbourne St (via Grey St), South Brisbane – come say hello and stay a while.

History

Our old lady will be 96 this year, and what a graceful beauty she is. Built in 1929 in the style of Classicism architecture during the interwar period, this State Heritage Building was first established as the Queensland National Bank. In 1929, it cost £339 to build. With a new lick of paint, some love and attention (not to mention a hell of a lot more than £339!), she is now better than ever.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land and their ongoing connection to this land, and we pay our respects to their culture and their Elders past, present and emerging.
